Online and Community Sources
The unlimited amount of resources for parents can be found online and in the community at large. Everywhere you go you can find a parent group or support center to help families cope and understand the special needs of a child with a learning disability. Many of these organizations arrange for workshops and speakers who touch on the many questions families have about learning disabilities.
Children Health Council, a Bay area organization, offers workshops to develop skills in parents and children. This organization has great community involvement because it creates a strong awareness of answers for families. An online community called Parents Helping Parents presents information about special education.
